Curtis Homer was elected to the Nampa City Council in 2008. Curtis retired in June 2007 after serving as the Chief of Police for the City of Nampa since 2002. Prior to his appointment as the Chief of Police, Curtis served as the Assistant Chief for two and one half years. Curtis had completed thirty three years in Law Enforcement.
Councilmember Homer serves on the council and is a liaison to the following committees, The Nampa Arts Commission, Downtown Nampa Development business group, and Valley Regional Transit. Councilmember Homer also serves on the Nampa Development Committee currently working with six other members to enhance areas and businesses in the city.
Councilmember Homer is a member of the Nampa Kiwanis Club and is on the board of directors. He is the past president of the club. Curtis has also served on the board of Valley Crisis Center.
Curtis is married to René and they have seven children, 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Both René and Curtis enjoy working with community groups such as the Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, Mercy Medical Center and the Snake River Stampede.
